Busy, Busy, Busy

We are busy these days! I will try to recap a bit of what we've been up to lately.

* School continues for the boys. All is going well at this point. It's hard to believe there are less than two months remaining in the school year. I'm looking forward to summer already though and all that it will bring--most notably, a husband and daddy around a bit more. I know I sound like I'm complaining. Don't mean to (I know it could be much worse), but we just miss him! Besides our summer vacation, I'm so looking forward to having our Sunday afternoons together again. I love napping on the couch with Ronnie while he watches some show I'm not the least bit interested in. That's fun to me.

* Clay started flag football a couple weeks ago. He's enjoying it. The kid loves football already! I guess that's good given his size. :) The coach has him at tight end right now and he's also the team kicker. They had their first game on Saturday--a loss, 21 to 7, I believe. He had fun!

* Clayton also had his first sleepover birthday party last night. He had a blast, but was so tired this morning! I told him I don't think I've seen him that tired since he was a baby! We talked about napping--he just didn't think he'd be able to nap because it's so bright (it's not) in his room. "Just close your eyes," I said--that was two hours ago! Sounds like the birthday boy's house was quite the entertainment capital. Already hearing, "they have this" and "they have that." Yeah, I mean, a telescope to check out the moon before you go to sleep! We can't even kind of compete. Already got me thinking though about keeping our little ones grounded. That's always been important to me--to teach them to be grateful for what we have.

* Gaby is waving and saying Mama. Love it! She's become quite the babbler--ba, ba, ba being her current favorite sound with lots of volume!

* I'm nearing the end of my training to run my first race ever. A 5K set for May 1 in support of Susan G. Komen breast cancer research. Running has become a great stress reliever for me lately and even though I'm getting older, feel better running than I ever have before. I remember after the c-section with Gaby, I felt like I'd never run again. Feels good to feel good.

* Ronnie is doing well in Weapons School. I know he's tired, very tired, and it's a heavy load and sprint to the finish, but we are slowly but surely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

* Thomas....well, he's just being Thomas. Loving life, learning, high energy, wanders off at football practice to collect pine cones or make new friends, giant imagination, and a new favorite word, "bioluminescence." (I'm not even sure I spelled it right!)

So we're good. Rolling along, day by day, doing good. Grateful to God for each moment, each opportunity, each season. No matter how easy or hard the days are, He gets it and He walks along side us and even carries us when we need it. I think that's just cool.

Oh, and Clay's still asleep!
