Yes, three weeks to go. I'm officially full-term tomorrow, so I'm thinking that's a great day for a baby. Or even today! I feel....done; overdone to be exact! Ready to go. Ready to not be pregnant anymore (although I constantly remind myself I'm likely going to miss this someday.) Truly, I'm just so ready to meet this little one. This one's just felt different all the way through. Probably because he/she was a surprise gift from the beginning. There just feels more of an element of surprise to this precious life and I'm dying to see and hold him or her. Reminding myself lots that it's all in His timing....and soon enough. (Yes, I will be saying that over and over and over again!) :)
I think all is pretty much prepared. We completed our powder room remodel a couple weeks back and I love it! Didn't think I could love a powder room so much! I'm regretting not having taken a before photo 'cause I sure love the after! Yesterday, we finished getting Gab's new furniture completely set up and her old nursery set moved into the baby's room. I haven't ordered any new bedding yet (should we need it), but I'll probably just hold off until we meet this little son or daughter. Ronnie set up our new double stroller today (love it so far) and two new rocking chairs should be arriving in the next 10 days. I've washed all the windows upstairs and washed and ironed the curtains in our bedroom and the boys' (just have needed to do that for a long, long time.) Have a smattering of boys' clothes and girls' clothes washed, along with boppy pillows, and the infant car seat padding. Anything else? I'm sure, but really just feels like we're missing a babe!
At this point, I guess holding out for another two days won't be such a bad thing. We have tickets to see Michael W. Smith tomorrow night. He was the first concert I ever went to. We're taking Clay with us. Expecting it to be wonderful.

The Perfect Gift
What is the perfect gift for a nesting mommy? A super clean house!! My parents so graciously offered for us to get a thorough house cleaning as a gift in honor of the newest chick. Of course, the baby won't care about how clean this place is, but I feel this huge sense of relief. I'll admit I kind of hate the nesting instinct. I mean, it's sweet and all; the notion of preparing the "nest". But it really does overtake me and make me a bit crazy. I see filth in places that I never otherwise would (nor would any sane person), and I like and think I generally keep a pretty clean house. Example: I was cleaning light bulbs before Gabriella was born. Yes, I said light bulbs. Well, yesterday, my whole house got cleaned from top to bottom, including the light bulbs and I didn't have to do it! It is a beautiful sight for these nesting eyes and oh so nice on this weary body. Ronnie and I are hoping to further employ these ladies for the next few months while we adjust to our new and even busier life.
And speaking of our new and busier life, my due date is exactly one month from today. I'm not thinking I'm going to make it that long however. Even as I sit here and write this, there's lots of activity going on. I talked with an OB at T's preschool on Monday who told me that all I'm experiencing is normal with #4. She said she thinks I'll likely go in my 37th week. Still, there's that "it could be any minute" feeling most days. Today's been another one of those days. I've started to restrict my comings and goings a bit, limiting myself just to places I need to be. I definitely feel very "vulnerable" this time around and like this kiddo will arrive super fast. Speaking of, I'm cautiously optimistic that baby is head-down, but not certain enough to declare it. The OB told me with #4 too, there's lots of room for all sorts of movements (as we've experienced), so s/he could flip back even if we've made it this far. We'll see.

The Perfect Number
Oh my gosh....39 days! We're in the 30's?! Wow. Wow! Thankful for a free weekend coming up so we can push forward with the many projects we still need to get done before the newest one arrives. First up, powder room remodel.
I just got an e-mail from a lady at church that I volunteer with and thought this was sweet and wanted to remember it. I just wrote her to tell her that I'm officially on break from the counseling ministry while we wait for baby and adjust to life as a family of six.
She responded, "Family of Six. That's a perfect number for a family. Know why? Have you ever seen a dining table in a home or a restaurant with five or seven chairs?" Thought that was sweet, especially when most people look at me like I/we have antennae when we're all out together and they see my belly.
Or....the pedicurist on Saturday who said nothing to me the entire time, other than to ask if this was our first baby. When I said, "No, it's our fourth," she then asked if we were Italian. (Thought that was funny.) She then said nothing again for the longest time, until she finally asked how old our other kids are. After she found out Gaby is just 17 months, her comment, "Oh! They are going to fight so much!"
Thanks. Thanks so much. Love when people share their true thoughts with me! Oh well!

Another Thomas-ism
I'm sure you've heard the expression, "My cup runneth over." So here goes with the latest (and cutest) saying by our favorite five year-old.
"Daddy, do you remember my Bible verse about having strong roots?"
"Not exactly, but I know what you're talking about."
"Well, we learned that it's really important to have strong roots in Jesus."
"You're right."
"Well, I have really strong roots and my cup fell over!"
Love it! Thomas is one of those kids who says something memorable almost everyday. He is a trip!

Confirmed
Had my most recent OB visit on Friday. Confirmed that the babe is transverse. Head on my right, feet to the left.
Not sure if I feel optimistic--we progressed 45 degrees--or not. A transverse babe is definitely not leaving any way other than the section. Oh, and just in case you're wondering, transverse kiddos are not comfortable to carry! I feel stretched to the max and I don't think the baby is really all that big.
At this point, definitely hoping we go early! My back has not weathered this pregnancy well either. Moving around at all the past month or so has been challenging to put it mildly at times and carrying Gab is just about enough to put me over the edge. Wishing I could spend the next however many days/weeks in bed or at least, with a full-time nanny and housekeeper. Ha! Dream on!
One more thing, on a totally different note....Gabriella is officially walking! As with all her gross motor deals, she goes from not being able to do it at all to having it close to mastered. So her appointment to be evaluated for her late walking was on Feb. 23rd. On the 22nd, she gets up from her nap, and just takes off! Even standing up in the middle of the floor without holding on to anything and changing directions....everything, all at once! The boys and I were sort of in disbelief! It was so cute to see and so shocking all at the same time. I mean, she was just off and going! Ronnie missed the big event, but got to see her in action the next morning. Needless to say, we cancelled her appointment. Clearly, just a kiddo who does things when she is good and ready!
